Wynn’s First UAE Casino Hotel Nears 60 % Completion

Wynn Resorts has announced that construction of its integrated resort on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, has surpassed 60% completion. This ambitious \$3.9 billion project is set to become the first casino hotel in the Gulf region, marking a historic moment for the Middle Eastern tourism and gaming industries.

The property, officially known as Wynn Al Marjan Island, will include over 1,000 luxury rooms and suites, a state-of-the-art gaming floor, multiple fine-dining outlets, a convention center, and a wellness-focused spa. Despite the UAE's traditionally conservative stance on gambling, local authorities granted Wynn special permission under new tourism and entertainment regulations designed to attract high-net-worth visitors.

Wynn’s CEO Craig Billings has described the resort as “a landmark investment in global hospitality” and emphasized its importance in the company’s long-term international growth plan. Analysts believe that Wynn’s move into the UAE could pave the way for other operators to explore opportunities in the region, especially if the Al Marjan resort proves commercially and culturally successful. Industry insiders are closely watching to see how Wynn balances regulatory sensitivities with its premium gaming experience.
