Spartan Warrior Slot
Hope you are up to for some time travel. Today we are going all the way back in time to see ancient Sparta. We have all heard about that place, the home of exceptional and fearless warriors, fantastic martial techniques and deadly arms. If you are ready, then join us at ‘Spartan Warrior’ test-spin.
What is Rival offering us at this new slot? All the basics are the same as everywhere else. ‘Spartan Warrior’ features five reels and fifteen lines. To win, you have to choose the line or the lines, stake as much as you want and hit a combo.
Betting is very Rival here. You may choose any or all of the fifteen available lines. To do so, use the ‘Select Lines’ button at the bottom of the screen or the sidebars icons. You are allowed to stake up to five coins per line. Coins may be worth from 0.01 to 1.00 each. The total stake varies from 0.01 to 75.00. Maybe not as high as high-rollers would like, but OK for the owners of medium and small bankrolls.
The tiles here are cards borrowed as well as several authentically designed items. The 10s and Jacks are worth 65x the line wager for the set of five. The same number of Kings and Queens would be worth 100x the bet. Five Aces are paid 150 times the line wager. The minimum combo for these icons is three of a kind. The design is more or less plain. The cards’ symbols are done to fit the historical time and the theme.
Authentic tiles don’t strike you with any elaborate design either. There is a tile with a Lady-warrior. Five of those are worth 300x the wager. A tile with a Battle scene is paid 350x the bet for five. Five Temples are paid 400 times the wager. A pay symbol with a Battleship stands out from the rest. Its minimal combo is not three but two of a kind. Hit it and get your wager multiplied 5x. For as many as five of a kind, you will be paid 500x the stake.
Then, there are some special features tiles. First, there is a Wild. It is a substitute for a missing symbol in a combo. This tile features two crossed swords and it is signed ‘Wild.’ The Wild may also act as a pay symbol in the ‘Spartan Warrior’ machine as it may form combinations. The two of a kind one multiplies your total wager ten times. If you hit a five-tile combo the spin bet will be multiplied by 5,000.
The second special tile is the Scatter. Here, it’s an icon with a helmet. Hit three and get 10 spins. For the set of four, you will be awarded with 20 spins. The maximum combination of five will be awarded with 100 spins. All of those are on the house. Of course, you can’t change the bet during free spins. It stays fixed. Though all the wins will be tripled thanks to the free spin multiplier. The feature may be activated again while free spinning.
The last, but not the least is the bonus round tile. It has a Shield on. You need at least three of those to initiate the interactive bonus game. It is called the Spartacus Warrior Bonus Round. Here you would have to become a spartan warrior yourself and get into a sword fight. The better you do the more bonus points you will receive.
The slot certainly has a heck of bonus features. The set of bonus perks is standard, no surprises here, and it looks really solid. Take a hundred free spins. Pretty generous. Though we doubt those would be easy to trigger. The design shows attempts to give the action some historic feel. Nice idea, but the overall graphics let alone the animation look somewhat undercooked and blurry. Didn't really seem epic to us. The music has also failed the epic attempt. It seems a bit moody, hasty and aggressive. Wild mixture. But such design decisions are what Rival is famous for. So we weren't taken by surprise here. But one thing did surprise us big time. The RTP here is just 94%. Of course, with such low betting tops some gamblers wouldn’t even pay attention. But we did. So the verdict is, spin it at your own risk. And better with the sound off.
