Scary Rich 3 Slot
If parts one and two weren’t enough, welcome Scary Rich 3. Rival has made two attempts of spooking the heck out of us. First was more funny than spooky frankly. The second looked more dirty and disgusting than scary. So, guess the third time's the charm as here the concept is totally new. Probably, it was the success of Insidious movie that inspired them. But this time, you have to face a real challenge and along with a couple of Rival-produced friends to spend a night in a haunted house.
The graphics and animation of this episode of Scary Rich is dramatically different from both previous parts. Graphic design of the tiles seems more 3D-like, more sleek and sophisticated even. Animation of the intro is something worth seeing. But the gameplay incidental animation is rather straightforward: splashes of way-too-bright red blood ruined the overall great impression. The soundtrack is still a bit annoying, but shows some improvement.
The basic gameplay here is exactly the same as in two previous machines. What can possibly be done to brighten up and diversify a five-reeler? Probably, adding more lines would do the trick, right? Rival though the same, and doubled the number of paylines. Now there are 50 of those. Choosing them gets a bit hectic, though. Somehow Rival guys decided to stick with a classic design with one button for choosing lines. Big mistake. Some arrows pointing up and down would have been much easier to manipulate. Try pressing the button 50 times to choose all the lines! Along with being careful not to press it 51 time, so you would have to start all the entertainment over again. There are always sidebars widgets, of course. There, the incrementing goes by five. So it is supposed to speed up the process.
The rest of the interface is pretty much the same as in the previous slots. There are two coins available. One is worth 0.10 and the other one is worth 0.25. You may bet as many as ten coins per each line. Thus, your total spin bet may go from a moderate 0.10 to lavish 125.00. Spinning is regulated manually or automatically. So you may choose what suits you best.
Winning at Scary Rich 3 is not different from any other slot. Winning requires landing a combination of identical symbols on the active payline or paylines. Here all the combinations are paid one way only, so any combo has to start on the first reel from the left. Al least, all the regular tiles combinations. Remember, scatter wins are paid differently.
Speaking of tiles, let’s figure out what is new Scary Rich 3 has to offer. Guess what? All the spooky entities were used in the first and the second parts. Here, all the tiles feature pretty ordinary objects and people. The lowest paid tile here is almost the only exception. It features a set of Skulls. Five of those are paid 60x the bet. Then, there are some objects used in ghost-hunting. The tile with a Video Camera is paid 150x the bet for five. A Ring with some Keys on it is paid twice more for the max combo. And the last one is a Lantern is worth 500x the line wager if you land five on the line.
Then, there are four icons with our adventurers. Those who have decided to break into a haunted house regardless of the spooky consequences. A tile with a blond Dude is paid 100 times the line stake if there are five of those in your combo. An icon with an African-American Guy is paid twice the previous one for the same combo. Then, there is a tile with a Girl. She is paid 600 times the line wager for five. Another tile with a supernatural creature, looking somewhat like Frankenstein is worth 400x the stake for the maximum combination. The Armor Headpiece is paid 800 times the wager for the set of five. And finally, there is a bloody Hatchet. For five, your line wager will go up 2,500 times. Those are all the regular symbols of the slot. Most of them have to come in a combination of at least three to be paid. With only one exception. The Hatchet is paid for the combination of as few as two of a kind.
As for the scatters, here we get a wild and a bonus-initiating scatter tile. The wild is a Werewolf. It replaces missing tiles to form a combo during the game. At the regular game mode, the Wild is a regular one-stop tile. It comes with multipliers, though. 2 wilds double the win, 3 wilds multiply the win 5 times. The 4 wild icons on the reels will multiply your win 10 times. At the free games’ mode, the wild becomes expandable. It occupies the entire reel, though there is a rub, as it comes without any multiplier.
The Evil Baron tile is the scatter here. Land three of those anywhere on the reels and get 6 high-powered free spins. If you land four Scatters on the reels, then you will be awarded with 66 spins free of charge. The four scatter tiles come with some incredible 666 free spins. Sounds tempting, right?
So, is it worth it? Why not? The quality of the visual performance has really improved. It is definitely less picturesque and vivid than the first episode, but shows a lot of promise. What hasn’t changed is the RTP figures. Those are still really low. See for yourself, if playing against the house when the house end is about 5% or more, is worth your time.
