Overview

Remember the original Scary Rich slot? Well, Rival took it further and now meet Scary Rich 2. Unlike the first slot, the sequel is much more gloomy. There is no scary fun anymore. Everything is dead serious.

The graphics and animation are both pretty depressive, practically monochrome with a touch of bloody red. The background is in deep hues of black, if there are such things are the hues of black. Grey, brown and ash-like tints accompany black, making the reel screen look rather dirty and repulsive. Rather basic animation involves flashes of red and knives' icons. The music is loud and pretty annoying.

The playing rules are standard. Winning requires hitting a combination of at least three play tiles on the line of your choice. Combos have to start on the leftmost reel. Those are the rules for standard icons, Scatters work differently, but that is also standard.

Let’s deal with the set of regular tiles first. Here, we get an array of nine payicons. The cheapest is a Black Cat tile, that is worth 55x the line bet in case you land five. Five Bald Zombies are worth 65x the wager. Get your line bet 75 times higher if you land five Zomby-ish looking fellas. For five Knives your line stake is multiplied 125 times. A Zombie-clown is paid 200x the wager and a Witch with red fingernails is worth 400. Both are paid so for the maximum combo of five. A tile with a Scary clownish mask is worth the symbolic amount of 666x the wager for five. Five Rats are worth 1,000x the line bet, while five spooky Dolls are paid 1,500 times the wager. The latter being the highest paid regular tile of the slot.

Regular tiles are pretty much done with, let’s figure out the perks of bonus tiles. At Scary Rich 2 we get a standard trio of scatters: a wild, a scatter and a jackpot icon. The Wild is a tile with a Coffin. As usual, it replaces missing symbols to form a winning combo. The wild also comes with a multiplier. It depends on how many Wilds are there on the reels. For two, your win will be tripled. For three wild tiles your spin win gets multiplied 6 times. And if you land as many as four, your multiplier will be as high as 13. The Wild tile is also a paysymbol like any other. The combination with Wilds start from as few as two of a kind. It is worth 10x the wager. For the max combo, you will be paid 10,000x the original stake.

A Werewolf is a scatter of the slot. Hit three and enjoy 13 spins that are paid by the house. During the free games the wild becomes expandable. It may feel the entire reel increasing your winning opportunities greatly. Mind, the expandable wild may land on the first three reels only and it comes with a fixed multiplier of 3x.

The last is a Jackpot tile. It features some spooky creature, probably some Bogeyman or a Banshee. We haven't seen any of those, so it’s hard to be sure which one that is. It looks pretty freaky to us, though. Here the drill is standard: it’s paysymbol and forms winning combos. The minimum combo is made of two of the kind, and it is paid 3x. The maximum is a five-tile combo which is worth 2,000.

Operating the Scary Rich is just like spinning any other Rival-powered machine. There are plenty of icons and widgets, and you may regulate pretty much everything. The coins come in two values: 0.01 and 0.05. The number of coins in line stake varies from one to ten. Choose any of the available 20 lines to bet on. So as you can see the minimal spin bet may be as little as 0.01 or it may go up to 10.00. A bit low if you have some impressive bankroll, but most gamblers would be just OK with the numbers. Spinning is optional: manual vs. auto mode. Paytable icon is there to check on the combos and the payouts.

If you enjoyed the first Scary Rich, you wouldn't necessarily enjoy the second one. It’s much more gloomy and depressive. Think of it as of a rated R version of an original R-13 machine: it’s somber, dreary and looks like it requires some thorough housekeeping. If you're into American Horror Story, that is most certainly up your street. Sadly enough, the house edge basically hasn’t changed from the first episode of the Scary Rich. It is still really high, so the RTP here is somewhere around 95-96%. The only thing that truly terrified us in the slot, otherwise quite agreeable.
