Overview

Sound familiar? If you are already a fan of this great TV show, then try spinning the new Rival’s slot. It’s a five-reeler with 20 paylines. A combination we are well accustomed to. Here, like at the show, you join a host and his two charming assistants to see what wins are waiting for you just around the spin.

The paysymbols here are some juicy prizes you expect to see at the TV show. Somewhat old-fashioned but nevertheless desirable. To get your hands on them, you need to land a combination of matching icons on the line of your choice. The first symbol of a combo has to land on the very first reel as the wins are paid in one direction only. Typically, the combinations start from at least three icons of one kind, but the more you land the bigger your win is going to be.

As for the tiles, there are some icons with fancy kitchen appliances. Like an outside Grill, for instance, for a combination of five your line win get multiplied 200 times. A set of five Mixers is worth 225x your line bet. Those are relatively moderate payouts, but if you hit five Fridges, then you wager will go up 500 times. The set of Golf Clubs is worth 250 for five of a kind. Five TVs are worth up to 400x your line stake. A Scooter is paid as much as the Fridge, 500x times the bet. While the Washer is worth only 400 for the set of five.

There are three more paysymbols with even higher payouts. The Boat is worth 800x your bet for five. A Car tile in a set of five gets your stake multiplied 1,000 times. The icon with a Bus is paid 1,500 times your wager for five.

Apart from the regular tiles, the slot is equipped with the special feature scatters. Here, we have two Scatters: the one with a Curtain and a Plunko icon. If you land three or more Curtain tiles the Donkey bonus round is triggered. This bonus game is a simple interactive pick me feature. The goal is to find a bag of money behind a curtain. There are three curtains to choose from. The money is hidden behind two of them, behind the third one is a donkey. If you open the curtain and find the money, then you win. And you get another go at this game. The game goes on until you finally open a curtain with the donkey behind it. It’s as simple as this.

As for the Plunko Bonus game, you may guess that it has something to do with the Plunko game. And you would be absolutely right. Here you would have to throw a ball, with the only goal — to land it at the most valuable sectors at the bottom. Control the ball launch with your mouse cursor and then nudge it left or right so it lands where you plan it to. The prize will be awarded to you depending on the outcome. Also, the both bonus scatters are paysymbols. But unlike the regular tiles their wins are multiplied not by a line stake but by the total wager instead.  For the set of three the multiplier is only 1x. While for four it’s 5x the bet, and for the five of a kind it reaches 50x the total stake.

Operating the slot is relatively easy, though Rival do prefer to make the gameplay pretty elaborate. Here we get the full set of buttons to select lines and make bets. There are 20 lines to choose from, so make your choice with a Select Lines button. You may wager from one to ten coins per line, and each may be worth from 0.01 to 0.25. So your total bet range from 0.01 to 50 per spin. This 50 tops might be a little disappointing for the high rollers, but regular players tend to enjoy such numbers. To save time betting, you may press the Bet Max button, so the stakes will be done automatically with the coin value of your choice. As for the spinning, you may proceed with the automode or manually. For the payouts and winning combos, hit the Paytable icons. They are on both sides at the top of the screen. In the lower left corner, there is a widget showing your latest win and the balance.

So what’s your verdict on the Reel of Fortune? As for us, we found it pretty entertaining. It’s easy to trigger the bonus rounds. The icons are amusing, though the graphic has nothing to do with state-of-the-art graphic design. But no one expects anything of that kind from Rival. Their slots entertain, not entice. A pretty legit concept in such a competitive biz. The sounds are simple and not intrusive. Which we personally really appreciated. Sadly, there is no wild feature in the gameplay. But it was an interesting experience for a change. Give it a go and see how it works out for you.
