Atlantic City Retail Casino Revenue Jumps 11% in May

Atlantic City’s nine land-based casinos posted a significant 10.9% jump in gross gaming revenue (GGR) in May 2025, reversing a slow start to the year. Table games led growth—up 21.9%—while slot revenue gained 7.5%, aided by the extra Saturday in May.
Online casino revenue also surged 28.5%, hitting $246.8 million, and sports betting generated $102.5 million, growing 30% year‑over‑year. Officials credit stronger leisure tourism and new entertainment offerings for the rebound.
Local gaming leaders see this surge as a sign of Atlantic City’s renewed momentum. They hope the summer peak will build a durable recovery, strengthening the city’s position against regional competition.
Looking ahead, casino operators plan to increase live events, promotions, and loyalty program investments to capitalize on the uptick and retain visitors through the fall and winter seasons.
