Atlantic City Casino Revenue Climbs 11% in May, Momentum Extends Into Summer

By August, the upward momentum had accelerated even further. Monthly casino revenue rose 6.1% to more than $311.9 million, making it the city’s best performance since before the pandemic. For the peak summer months, in-person casino earnings were up 5.5% compared to 2024, signaling renewed confidence in the destination.
Observers credit the improvement to stronger visitor turnout, higher average spending, and better operational efficiency among casinos. The city’s focus on expanding entertainment, dining, and nightlife options is also believed to be attracting new demographics of visitors.
Yet challenges remain. Atlantic City must navigate growing competition from New York and Pennsylvania while managing inflationary pressures and staffing shortages. Industry leaders stress that reinvestment in non-gaming attractions and infrastructure will be key if the city hopes to sustain its momentum in the years ahead.
